It is with profound sadness that the Membership and Officers of the Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad and Auxiliary announce the passing of member James H. “Jay” Bowles Jr. Jay joined the department in April 2016 and became one of our dedicated drivers for our Saturday night crew. Jay, along with his wife also joined our auxiliary and assisted with many events. Jay was a member of the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department as well. He joined in 1975 and was an active member of the department. Please keep the Bowles family in your thoughts and prayers along with the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department through these tough times.

Prayers will take place at Mattingley - Gardiner Funeral Home on Friday 8/18/2023 from 5pm to 8pm with fireman’s prayers starting at 7pm. (Any department personnel wishing to participate please be at Company 1 at 6:30pm)
Services will take place Saint Aloyisus Catholic Church Saturday, August 19th at 10am
Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens
The family requests no outside department apparatus.
