Squad 1 arrived and assumed scene command. Ambulance 196 was also en route with EMT/IVT Mary Borland and Driver Mock Mattingly. 196, Company 79, and Engine 10 were placed in service by command on scene.
The accident was caused by a HUGE 8-point buck attempting to cross the road. The vehicle had moderate damage but the driver sustained minor injuries and was able to walk to the ambulance. The patient was transported to St. Mary's Hospital as a precaution.
